# Ticket Completion Email Setup Guide

## Overview
This guide explains how to configure and use the automatic ticket completion email system that sends confirmation emails to customers when work is completed.

## What's Been Implemented

### 1. Email Class Created
- **File**: `app/Mail/TicketCompletion.php`
- **Purpose**: Handles the email sending logic for ticket completion
- **Subject**: "Gas Service Work Completed - {TICKET_ID}"

### 2. Email Template Created
- **File**: `resources/views/emails/ticket_completion.blade.php`
- **Features**:
  - Professional HTML design with VGAZOLUTION branding
  - Complete ticket information display
  - Customer details and service address
  - Completion confirmation message
  - Safety verification information
  - Contact details for follow-up
  - Responsive design for mobile devices

### 3. Controller Integration
- **Files Modified**: `app/Http/Controllers/Admin/TicketController.php`
- **Methods Updated**:
  - `complete()` - Sends email when ticket is completed via complete button
  - `updateStatus()` - Sends email when status is changed to 'completed'
- **Error Handling**: Logs email failures but doesn't break the completion process

## Configuration Required

### 1. Environment Setup
Update your `.env` file with proper email settings:

```env
# For development/testing (logs emails instead of sending)
MAIL_MAILER=log
# For production with SMTP
MAIL_MAILER=smtp
MAIL_HOST=smtp.gmail.com
MAIL_PORT=587
MAIL_USERNAME=your-email@gmail.com
MAIL_PASSWORD=your-app-password
MAIL_ENCRYPTION=tls
MAIL_FROM_ADDRESS=noreply@vgazolution.com
MAIL_FROM_NAME=VGAZOLUTION
```

### 2. Gmail Setup (Recommended)
1. Enable 2-factor authentication on your Gmail account
2. Generate an App Password:
   - Go to Google Account settings
   - Security → 2-Step Verification → App passwords
   - Generate a new app password for "Mail"
3. Use the app password in your `.env` file

### 3. Alternative Email Services
- **Mailtrap** (for development): Free testing email service
- **SendGrid**: Reliable email delivery service
- **Amazon SES**: Scalable email service for high volume

## How It Works

### Automatic Triggers
The completion email is automatically sent when:

1. **Via Complete Button**: Admin clicks "Complete Ticket" button
2. **Via Status Update**: Admin changes ticket status to "completed"
3. **Both Methods**: Ensure the email is sent regardless of how completion is triggered

### Email Content Includes
- Ticket ID and customer information
- Service address details
- Issue description
- Priority level and dates
- Assigned technician information
- Safety verification confirmation
- Contact information for follow-up

## Testing

### 1. Test Script
Run the provided test script:
```bash
php test_ticket_completion_email.php
```

### 2. Manual Testing
1. Create a test ticket in the admin panel
2. Assign a technician and mark as "in_progress"
3. Complete the ticket either via:
   - Complete button
   - Status dropdown change to "completed"
4. Check email logs or recipient inbox

### 3. Email Logs
If using `MAIL_MAILER=log`, check:
```
storage/logs/laravel.log
```

## Troubleshooting

### Common Issues

1. **Email Not Sending**
   - Check `.env` configuration
   - Verify SMTP credentials
   - Check firewall/port settings

2. **Template Errors**
   - Ensure `resources/views/emails/ticket_completion.blade.php` exists
   - Check for syntax errors in Blade template

3. **Missing Data**
   - Verify ticket has required relationships (apartment, technician)
   - Check database for missing customer email addresses

### Debug Mode
Enable debug mode in `.env`:
```env
APP_DEBUG=true
```

## Customization

### Email Template
Edit `resources/views/emails/ticket_completion.blade.php` to:
- Change colors and styling
- Add company-specific information
- Modify the message content
- Add logos or images

### Email Class
Edit `app/Mail/TicketCompletion.php` to:
- Change subject line
- Add attachments
- Modify recipients (CC, BCC)

## Security Notes

1. **Never commit email credentials** to version control
2. **Use environment variables** for all sensitive data
3. **Use app passwords** instead of regular passwords for Gmail
4. **Consider using email services** like SendGrid for production

## Production Deployment

1. **Configure production SMTP** settings
2. **Set `MAIL_MAILER=smtp`** in production
3. **Test with real email addresses**
4. **Monitor email delivery rates**
5. **Set up email bounce handling**

## Support

For issues with:
- **Email configuration**: Check Laravel Mail documentation
- **Template issues**: Review Blade syntax
- **SMTP problems**: Contact your email provider
