## Security Features Implemented

✅ **OTP Security**
- Random generation using `random_int()`
- 6-digit length (balance of security & usability)
- Numeric only (reduces typos)
- Time-limited (15 minutes)
- Single-use (cleared after verification)
- Database stored (secure)

✅ **Email Security**
- TLS encryption (smtpout.secureserver.net:587)
- Verified sender address
- Professional template with warnings
- No sensitive data in plain text
- Secure from verified company email

✅ **Session Security**
- Authentication required (auth:client middleware)
- CSRF protection (Laravel tokens)
- IP logging (stored in ClientEditOtp)
- User agent logging (stored in ClientEditOtp)
- Audit trail (activity logging)

✅ **Access Control**
- Only authenticated clients can access
- Clients can only access their own requests
- Time-limited edit access (7 days)
- Edit access expires after time limit
- Admin can view all requests

---

## Performance Considerations

### Email Delivery
**Current**: Synchronous (blocking)
**Recommendation**: Convert to queue in production

```php
// app/Mail/EditAccessOtpMail.php
class EditAccessOtpMail extends Mailable implements ShouldQueue
{
    use Queueable;
}
```

### Database Queries
- OTP lookup uses indexed `client_id`
- Efficient queries with proper WHERE clauses
- No N+1 query problems

### Cleanup
**Add to scheduler** (`app/Console/Kernel.php`):
```php
$schedule->call(function () {
    \App\Models\ClientEditOtp::cleanupExpired();
})->daily();
```

---

## Logging & Monitoring

### What Gets Logged
✅ OTP email sent successfully
```
INFO: OTP email sent to user@example.com
```

✅ OTP email failed
```
ERROR: Failed to send OTP email for EditRequest #123: [error]
```

✅ OTP verified successfully

```
✅ Invalid OTP attempt
```
WARNING: Invalid OTP attempt - code mismatch
```
✅ OTP expired
```
WARNING: OTP verification attempted - code expired
```
### Log Location
```
storage/logs/laravel.log
```
### View OTP Activity
```bash
Get-Content storage/logs/laravel.log | Select-String "OTP|otp" | Select-Object -Last 20
```
