# QR Code, Funeral Instructions & Estate Storage Implementation Guide

## Overview

I've created complete implementations for 3 critical missing features:

1. **QR Code Document Verification** - Secure document authentication
2. **Funeral Instructions** - Complete funeral preference management
3. **Estate & Document Storage** - Lifetime secure document storage with encryption

All code is ready to integrate into your system.

## 🔧 INSTALLATION STEPS

### Step 1: Install Required Package

### Step 2: Run Migrations

Add to `routes/web.php`:

## 🔴 FEATURE 1: QR CODE VERIFICATION

### What It Does

**QR codes are placed on generated PDF documents allowing clients to scan and verify authenticity.**

Format: `https://yoursite.com/verify/qr/{unique-token}`

### How It Works

1. When PDF is generated → QR code is created with unique token
2. Token contains: `SHA256(will_id + timestamp + app_key)`
3. QR code embedded in PDF header/footer
4. Client scans with phone camera → Opens verification page
5. Verification page shows:
   - Document information
   - Scan history
   - Document authenticity confirmation

### Files

**Service:** `app/Services/QrCodeService.php`
- `generateVerificationToken($type, $id)` - Creates unique token
- `generateQrCode($token, $size)` - Generates QR image (base64)
- `verifyToken($token)` - Validates token
- `getQrCodeMetadata($token)` - Gets scan history

**Controller:** `app/Http/Controllers/QrCodeController.php`
- `verifyDocument($token)` - Public verification page
- `generateWillQrCode($will)` - Generate QR for will
- `generateTrustQrCode($trust)` - Generate QR for trust
- `getQrScanHistory($token)` - View scan history

## ⚰️ FEATURE 2: FUNERAL INSTRUCTIONS

### What It Does

**Allows clients to specify complete funeral preferences including:**
- Burial vs Cremation preference
- Funeral home/director contact
- Religious ceremony requirements
- Budget allocation
- Organ/body donation preferences
- Special memorial instructions
- Notification preferences

### How It Works

1. Client fills funeral preferences form
2. Data stored in `funeral_instructions` table
3. Included in will document generation
4. Executor notified automatically
5. Cost estimation calculated

## 🏛️ FEATURE 3: ESTATE & DOCUMENT STORAGE

### What It Does

**Manages secure, lifetime storage of will documents with:**
- Encrypted document storage
- Version control
- Access logging
- Lifetime accessibility
- Document sharing
- Notarization tracking
- Estate inventory

### How It Works

1. Will is generated as PDF
2. PDF encrypted using Laravel's `Crypt::encrypt()`
3. Stored in private storage: `storage/documents/{client_id}/{type}s/`
4. Metadata stored in database with:
   - Filename hash
   - Access count
   - QR token
   - Encryption status
5. Access tracked in `document_access_logs`
6. Clients can download/share if permitted

## 🔒 SECURITY FEATURES

### Encryption

- **At Rest:** Documents encrypted with Laravel `Crypt::encrypt()`
- **Access Control:** Only authorized users can download
- **Audit Trail:** Every access logged with IP, user agent, timestamp
- **Document Sharing:** Share tokens with expiration and access limits

### QR Code Verification

- Unique token per document: `SHA256(type:id:timestamp:secret)`
- Cannot be guessed or brute-forced
- Public verification endpoint (no auth required)
- Scan history tracked

### Data Integrity

- SHA256 hash stored for verification
- Detect file tampering
- Version history maintained
- Soft deletes for data recovery
